Dream & Encouragement

image327Last night I had a dream about someone I have known for over 30 years, not as a friend, an acquaintance who has kids the age of my kids, a lovely lady who lives within blocks of me, Renee. I dreamt I was in her yard. She had a large woody bush/tree that had died. I asked her what she was going to make with it. She said she is making a bench.

I was out in my front yard this morning.  I saw 2 ladies walking up the street.  I realized that one of them was Renee.  I quickly ran inside……………then I heard, go out there and tell her…….yikes, first a no came out of my mouth – then a begrudging , OK came out of me.

I interrupted them talking and said. “Renee, I had a dream about you last night” (am I really doing this?) I dreamt you were making a beautiful bench out of an old tree that had died. Her friend piped up. “Oh no, she doesn’t make things……….” It was a curved bench that could hold a person.

She said, “I think of you, Katie, I think of you and Max. You know, I care for my sister who is disabled, Lori is 51 now. I went to court, became her guardian, all the stuff, after my mom died.” she lives in a group home now, she works and is doing well. I have realized I have to let go. I have been feeling down lately.

I said, “Renee, you have made something beautiful out of what seemed to have no life left. You have provided for her, you have held her.”  She and her friend said, “This must be a sign, see, you have done well”  Renee said, “I feel so good now.”  I said, Renee, you done good, you done good”…….God is so funny and tender.
