Tip For A Taxi

betrunken-taxiAt work I received a twenty dollar tip which was unusual for this client, but I had an impression from the Lord that this wasn’t for me. Later one of the ladies I shuttled to the parking lot got back on and went back to work even though work was over for the day. Later I saw her in the lobby on the phone as I kept returning she was still there, and then I saw her crying. My heart was moved with compassion and in my mind I saw a car being towed. Immediately I knew that her car was repossessed. The Lord gave me a few more pieces of information. I walked up to her and asked if I could help her because I was leaving soon.

She said she would be alright. I asked, “Can I call you a cab? I’ll pay for it too.” She smiled, agreed and thanked me. As we were waiting for the cab I told her not to worry about getting back to work. Her coworker Randall a few cubes down from her lived in her same apartment complex. I told her that maybe he could give her a ride. She was shocked. She asked if I knew him. I told her no but Jesus knows him and you. “Weren’t you asking Him for help in between phone calls?” She said, “Yes.” I responded, “Well I guess I am part of the answer. Don’t worry. Jesus will help you get through this.” At that moment the cab pulled up. I asked the driver what it would cost after she told him where she needed to go. It was almost the exact amount of the tip I received. I told him thanks and said to keep the change.

All of a sudden I had another impression. I got the drivers attention just before he pulled away. I said, “You forgot your prayer mat at the Marriott City Center. Your friend Abdi well have it for you when you got to the Southwest Marriott later tonight.” He blurted out,”What? How do you know this?” He got of the taxi and opened his trunk and noticed his prayer mat was not in there. He asked me, “Do you know Abdi?” I said no, “No.” He looked confused. I said, “Jesus loves you so He told me to tell you.” I smiled! He said “I like Jesus….are you a Christian?” “I am a follower of Jesus.” I responded. “Oh…that’s good. Thank you for the information.” I said, “You’re welcome.” The taxi left. I waived goodbye to the young lady. God showed how much He cares for His children, even in the little things.
