Work Connection

painter_600_1I was working downtown one day and I was pretty sure I would have an opportunity to encounter a homeless person while I was heading to the job site.  As I expected, a man stood with a sign on a corner.  The stoplight turned red, so I rolled down my window and began interacting with him.  I gave him some cash and found out that he was a painter by trade, but was just having trouble finding jobs to work.

Well, a friend of mine who is a painter had just called me to see if any of my sons wanted some work, so I knew he was hiring.  I mentioned it to this man, but the light turned green, so I told him I’d pull back around to give him my friend’s contact information. The place I found to pull over was about a block away and as I parked my truck I looked and this guy was running over to see me.  I gave him my friend’s info and he was so thankful. He even already has his own sprayer and all the equipment; he just needed a job.

As we parted ways he said, “I know God sent you to me today. This is such a blessing from God!”
